We are seeking an experienced Employment Attorney to join our European Employment Legal Team on an initial 18-month contract. As an Employment Attorney, you will play a crucial role in providing legal guidance and support to our business functions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Project Work: Support key strategic projects, including the implementation of the Pay Transparency Directive, employment-related aspects of ESG, and expansion into emerging markets.
  • Legal Advisory: Provide timely and accurate individual and collective employment law advice and counsel to business partners on a broad spectrum of legal issues.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Stay abreast of new EU and UK employment laws and regulations that impact or might impact on TJX Europe's operations and support the business in ensuring compliance.
  • Training and Education: Conduct or support the provision of legal training, both within the function and the wider business.
  • External Relationships: Manage effective relationships (locally and cross-border) with external legal counsel.
Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
  • Relevant experience as a UK qualified employment lawyer (around 2-5 years' PQE) in a recognised law firm and/or an in-house position.
  • Experience of advising in relation to other European jurisdictions and supporting cross-border projects will be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of employment laws, regulations, and legal principles relevant to the industry or business sector.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Strong/effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Good commercial awareness, with a pragmatic, solution-based approach to issues.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of integrity and ethics.
