About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team at Michael Page International Canada Limited. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a critical role in the development and delivery of preconstruction services, including scope definition, cost planning, and value engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Development: Participate in project development activities, including scope definition, preconstruction planning, and control estimate development and delivery.
  • Preconstruction Services: Provide preconstruction services, including the preparation of preliminary budgets, cost plans, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Estimating and Cost Management: Determine general expenses and provide input into the margins/fees.
  • Subcontractor and Supplier Management: Coordinate preparation and performance of full detailed quantity takeoff estimates, identifying inherent risk and opportunities.
  • Contract Negotiation and Award: Assist in negotiating and awarding of contracts.
  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Assist in project planning and scheduling.
Requirements
  • 8-10+ years of estimating experience in the ICI construction environment, on the General Contracting side of the ICI industry.
  • Strong contact network in the area of trades & clients, with involvement in both Business Development and Estimating.
  • Knowledge of lump sum, construction management, and conceptual estimating for ELECTRONIC TAKE-OFFS.
  • Experience using estimating software, such as Timberline Estimating, Prime Bid, or On-Centre Takeoff.
  • Post-secondary education in quantity surveying/estimating, architectural technology, or engineering technology.
