Reading, Reading, United Kingdom Activate Learning Full time
About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Activate Learning. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism and other associated difficulties on our courses.

Our students require individualized support to access their learning, and we need someone who can provide a safe and inclusive environment for them to thrive. You will work closely with our ASC Coordinators to develop and implement individual learning programmes, providing support in small groups and one-to-one activities.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for facilitating the students' learning using creative and purposeful lesson planning. You may also be required to support learners to access learning on their course within the mainstream learning environment and off-site activities.

Personal care can form part of the duties included in this role, and training will be provided. We have a variety of working patterns available, including full-time, part-time, and fixed-term contracts based at Reading College.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive hourly rate of £10.66-£11.65ph, depending on skills and experience. You will also have access to our generous pension schemes, annual leave entitlement, and excellent on-site facilities, including free parking, refectory facilities, and Hair and Beauty salons.

We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for our staff, with access to qualified coaches, leadership and management development programmes, and a comprehensive wellbeing programme.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have good communication skills, be able to work with tutors to ensure the delivery of an effective programme of further education, and be part of a coordination team. A qualification in Autism or other associated difficulties is not essential, but a willingness to learn about Autism and the other difficulties a young person may experience is essential.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all candidates meeting or exceeding the minimum criteria for the role, regardless of age, disability, gender, orientation, race, religion, or ethnicity.
