Position: Ophthalmic Imaging Specialist

We are looking for dedicated professionals to join our esteemed team as Ophthalmic Imaging Specialists at Oxford University Hospitals. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional ophthalmic imaging and diagnostic services.

Your responsibilities will include executing a range of ophthalmic technical procedures such as Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), fundus imaging, corneal mapping, and additional tasks. While previous experience in ophthalmic imaging is advantageous, comprehensive training will be provided, making this a remarkable opportunity for individuals eager to develop their expertise.

Ideal candidates should possess a solid understanding of human anatomy and a desire to further their knowledge in this specialized field. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues are vital for success in this role. Familiarity with computer systems and database management is also necessary. Furthermore, candidates will be encouraged to pursue the Certificate of Higher Education in OCT Capture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform essential ophthalmic clinical technical and imaging services
  • Collaborate with the Imaging & Diagnostic team to ensure superior patient care
  • Contribute to service enhancement initiatives to uphold high clinical standards
  • Manage administrative tasks, data processing, and clinical audit responsibilities
  • Continuously advance professional skills with mentorship from the Ophthalmic Imaging Specialist
  • Execute any additional duties as assigned by the Head of Department
