About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join our team at Transport for the North. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of large and complex projects, or programmes of work, to support the delivery of the Trans-Pennine Route Upgrade (TRU).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the delivery of large and complex projects, or programmes of work, to support the delivery of the TRU.
  • Work with senior internal/external stakeholders and partners to ensure delivery against project needs and objectives.
  • Lead a project team or teams and ensure all work and outputs are executed to meet requirements.
  • Take into consideration interdependencies between your work and other programmes of work.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience in successfully managing large and complex multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and meet operational targets.
  • Knowledge of the rail industry, including timetabling and access planning.
  • Drive to deliver excellent customer experience during periods of disruption.
  • Effective communication and presentational skills.
  • Proven ability to compile clear and concise technical and non-technical reports for a range of audiences.
  • Financial management skills with an emphasis on cost management.
  • Ability to work in partnership with a range of stakeholders.
  • Proven experience dealing with projects that impact the general public and other multiple stakeholders.
