Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Facilities Operations Manager to oversee the maintenance and security of a school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Open the premises and conduct thorough inspections of buildings and grounds at the beginning of each day to ensure readiness and report any urgent repairs needed.
  • Secure all entrances, windows, and perimeter gates at the end of the day to maintain site security, including managing alarm systems.
  • Monitor site security and perform checks outside of operational hours to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Coordinate with contractors regarding safety protocols and job requirements on-site.
  • Supervise cleaning services and ensure compliance with cleanliness standards, particularly in restrooms and areas requiring special attention.
  • Maintain outdoor spaces, ensuring pathways, steps, and drains are clean and free of debris, including the management of waste disposal.
  • Clear snow and apply grit or salt to ensure safe access during winter conditions.
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs as needed, including health and safety checks.
  • Work according to designated shift patterns to meet service delivery expectations.
  • Provide support to other facilities managers during absences as directed.
  • Conduct site inductions for contractors and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies and issues as part of a designated contact list.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a similar role with relevant responsibilities.
  • Proficient in using various computer systems.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Strong communication skills with experience in professional interactions.
