**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
We are currently recruiting for a motivated, reliable and customer focused Facilities Officer to join our team based at Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, Bedfordshire, SG17 5TQ.

You will be required to assist in the provision of Facilities Management service for the main operational building. The service will include security, overseeing the cleaning team, caretaking, pottering, couriering, archiving & maintenance service and out of hour's reception.

**Job Type**: Permanent - Full Time.

**Pay Rate**: £12.54 per hour.

**Working Hours**: 37.5 Hrs per week on a rotating shift pattern, Week A: Monday to Friday 06:30 Hrs to 14:30 Hrs, Week B: Monday to Friday 12.00 Hrs to 20.00 Hrs. Overtime will be available

**Start Date**: Immediately

**Key Responsibilities and Tasks**:

- Assist in the provision of a professional out of hour reception desk service, providing a courteous and efficient support and advice service to staff, customers, & members.
- Assist in the provision of a professional portering service within & between the main operational offices.
- Assist in the provision of a professional caretaking service within the main operational buildings.
- Assist in the provision of the day & night time security service for the main operational buildings.
- Take a proactive role in the Health, Safety & Welfare within the main operational buildings.
- Assist in the provision of a customer focus and professional minor maintenance service within the main operational buildings.
- Carry out minor items of Planned Preventive Maintenance on the main operational buildings as directed by the Facilities Supervisor. (Training will be provided).
- Assist in the provision of a professional Portable Appliance Testing (Visual inspection) service within the main operational buildings.

**Additional Responsibilities and Tasks**:

- Provide cover for colleagues during holiday and sickness.
- Liaise with and attend to contractors requiring access to the building outside of normal working hours to ensure safe access and egress.
- Order materials and supplies related to the duties of the post as required.
- Raising & responding to requests (related to the duties of the post) on the Service's property maintenance & management system.
- Working in other buildings as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information gained during the course of employment that relates to other employees, the public, contractors, elected members etc.
- Accept responsibility for the post holder's own health and safety and that of others as set out in the Council's health and safety policies.
- Undertake other duties that may arise or as may be delegated from time to time, appropriate to the grade of this post.
