We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Procurement Specialist to join our procurement team at Pets Choice Ltd.

This is a new role to support our growing business that will focus on sourcing materials, commodities, and ingredients which will be used at our manufacturing sites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative supplier partnerships to support a lean and profitable supply chain.
  • Manage supplier performance and implement scorecards to align business objectives on cost, quality, on-time delivery, lead times, etc.
  • Identify areas of risk in the supply chain, prioritize, and implement plans to mitigate such risks.
  • Conduct contract negotiations and ongoing market analysis to report conclusions.
  • Prepare requests for tender (RFQs) and documentation.
  • Collate and report cost savings against targets and track the impact on profitability.
  • Responsible for accurate item costs into the profit and loss statement.
  • Conduct logistics analysis to determine the most cost-effective and efficient methods with both suppliers and customers (cost to serve).
  • Drive business and industry compliance, aligning with the technical department.
  • Supplier visits.
  • Provide support to the business during the execution of larger projects, including new product development and innovation pipelines.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role with a proven track record of delivering savings.
  • Contract negotiation skills.
  • Confident communication skills.
  • Team player.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Relationship building with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Resilient with a proactive approach.
  • Computer literate.
  • Experience gained from the food or pet food industry is highly desirable.

Working Arrangements:

Pets Choice Ltd offers a hybrid working arrangement, with three days per week in our head office in Blackburn and two days per week working from home.
