We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Electronics Engineer to join our team at Parker Meggitt. As a key member of our electronics team, you will be responsible for designing and developing safety-critical technology for commercial and military aerospace applications.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the hardware electronics team in the design and development of safety-critical technology.
- Act as an independent reviewer of electronic designs and supporting lifecycle documentation.
- Capture, develop, and validate hardware requirements.
- Design, analyze, implement, and verify electronic circuits in accordance with defined requirements specifications.
- Document design activities, ensuring traceability of design to requirements.
- Plan, generate, perform, and validate results of hardware verification plans and procedures.
- Collaborate with systems, software, and mechanical disciplines to ensure hardware level requirements are met.
- Contribute to the development of system architectures and trade studies.
- Support system qualification activities and hardware/software integration activities.
- Assist project managers in the compilation of plans, estimates, and risk management plans.
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- 6+ years of solid demonstrable experience in hardware electronics engineering.
- Proficient hardware electronics design competence in majority of the following areas:
- Design of high integrity/safety critical circuitry.
- Design of microcontroller-based circuitry.
- Design of digital interface circuitry using SPI/I2C/CAN/MIPI/DDR.
- Design of analogue signal measurement/conditioning circuitry.
- Design of low voltage power supplies and power switching techniques.
- Design for lightning and voltage transient protection.
- Design for EMC/EMI.
- Experience in leading teams of electronic engineers and motivating their efforts to deliver compliant designs.
- Experience of de-rating, reliability prediction analysis, and Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Experience of electronic hardware verification and test procedures.
- Comprehensive understanding of configuration control and change management.
- Ability to drive and manage PCB layout through sub-contract.
- Awareness of embedded software to support HW/SW integration activities.
- Ability to compile information and prepare reports to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize duties with minimal supervision.
