Position Overview

If you possess exceptional organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a background in UK B2B energy regulations, this role may be an excellent fit for you. You will be instrumental in assisting Shell's B2B power and gas retail operations in the UK by coordinating essential regulatory compliance initiatives and offering first-line regulatory advice and support across various levels of the organisation.

Your Role

As a B2B Regulation & Compliance Specialist, you will:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Shell Energy UK regarding daily regulatory inquiries.
  • Oversee, assess, and coordinate responses to the rapidly changing industry modifications for the integrated power sector, collaborating with Subject Matter Experts to advocate as needed.
  • Support the evaluation and response to broader regulatory change consultations and assist in implementing necessary business adjustments.
  • Facilitate meetings with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal experts to prepare high-quality responses to regulatory Requests for Information (RfI) or external audits, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Conduct regulatory compliance assessments to proactively identify opportunities for Shell Energy UK to enhance its compliance performance.
Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of energy, particularly B2B retail energy regulations.
  • Degree-level education in a relevant field (e.g., law, economics, politics) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with internal stakeholders and coordinating discussions within peer groups.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Recognition of the importance of delivering high-quality compliance information.
