Position Title: Lead Project Scheduler

Core Responsibilities:

In the role of Lead Project Scheduler, you will be responsible for overseeing the assessment of project timelines for the designated program of activities and integrating cost and risk evaluations. You will provide direction to the supply chain to clarify planning requirements.

Your responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the Planning Manager in formulating the program framework, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), schedules, and timelines, ensuring alignment with the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and the Employer's data dictionary.
  • Contributing to the development of cost and resource-loaded schedules during submissions in line with the required delivery milestones.
  • Ensuring that the schedule adheres to all necessary access dates, milestones, and key deadlines in accordance with the Employer's planning standards, contract specifications, and project information.
  • Participating in the evaluation of schedule risks and conducting risk analysis, including the formulation and execution of mitigation strategies.
  • Monitoring progress and regularly updating the schedule, including forecasting potential issues and proposing solutions to the Planning Manager.
  • Collaborating with the Project Controls Manager, Reporting Manager, and Change Management on related construction scheduling matters.
  • Engaging with various stakeholders and other work packages to communicate the agreed-upon construction planning strategy and share best practices, innovations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Reviewing and assessing supply chain schedules and integrating them into the main schedule as necessary.
  • Maintaining short- and medium-term schedules to ensure that primary program objectives are achieved.
  • Assisting in scenario planning, providing integrated solutions to project conflicts and recovery strategies.
  • Supporting the Planning Manager with ad-hoc business needs as required.
  • Assisting the Planning Manager in guiding the scheduling team in setting objectives, evaluating performance, and anticipating selection and promotion decisions to ensure that Planning Engineers possess the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the team's goals.
  • Documenting, implementing, and disseminating best practices in project scheduling policies, processes, and procedures across the organization to drive continuous improvement and provide specialized advice as needed.

Business Development Initiatives

  • Proactively identifying opportunities to enhance Assystem's network and service offerings.
  • Participating in Assystem's knowledge-sharing and networking events.
  • Conducting market research to support sector leaders.
  • Facilitating Project Controls Maturity Assessments.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience in major infrastructure and construction projects.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Primavera P6.
  • Strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) and project reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
  • Capability to perform effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Experience in creating dashboards using Power BI or Tableau.
  • Professional Membership.

This position necessitates that the successful candidate holds a minimum of BPSS Clearance. Due to the nature of the work and the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate must be a UK national or, in approved cases, a dual national from a non-ITAR country.
