About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our Business Systems team at North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering projects to implement new business systems solutions, providing technical and specialist support, and advising on hardware and software to our users and other engineers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deploy and assist with the smooth day-to-day running of all IT systems, working closely with the Azure team at Microsoft to enable secure services delivery via Azure Services.
  • Manage, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system-related issues quickly to provide efficient and effective user support.
  • Use your developed technical knowledge and experience in Azure, Active Directory, Windows Server, and DNS to support the continual improvement of business systems.
  • Work as part of a team to support the development and maintenance of our ICT infrastructure, in accordance with our Digital Strategy and Strategy for Urgent and Emergency Care.
  • Collaborate with other ICT Teams to support users with the development and implementation of complex IT solutions, leveraging new technologies and existing infrastructure.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24/7 accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport. Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and transport people to hospital or a place of care if needed.

We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for patients who require transport to and from hospital and are unable to travel unaided due to their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside other emergency services, we work to ensure public safety and patient treatment in the event of a major incident.

We deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West, providing non-emergency medical help fast and available 24/7.

Requirements
  • Educated to Degree level in a relevant area or equivalent professional experience supporting complex ICT infrastructure.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or equivalent.
  • VMware Certified Professional.
  • Proven practical experience of delivering IT and telecommunications services in an integrated environment.
  • Experience of working with third parties, including outsource providers, to deliver quality IT telecommunications services.
  • Substantial proven experience in the configuration and management of Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and above, VMWare, and Hyper converged infrastructure.
  • Evidence of continual professional development.
