Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our team at The Christie NHS FT. As a Physiotherapist - Medical / Surgical Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality physiotherapy services to patients with medical and surgical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized physiotherapy programs for patients with medical and surgical conditions.
  • Provide physiotherapy treatment to patients on a clinical rotational basis, including those with oncology, haematological, and proton beam therapy.
  • Manage a designated caseload of patients, including those with surgical, teenage, and young adult conditions.
  • Supervise and educate student physiotherapists, junior staff, and non-qualified staff in clinical settings.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, clinics, and case conferences to provide specialist physiotherapy advice and input.
  • Assess patients for specialist equipment and provide education on the safe and competent use of physiotherapy equipment.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical standards and policies in the physiotherapy department.
  • Participate in audit and research projects to improve clinical practice and patient care.
Requirements
  • Registered Physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience in delivering physiotherapy services to patients with medical and surgical conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and risk management principles.
