Senior Technician - Renewable Infrastructure

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Technician to join our team in Edinburgh, working on renewable energy infrastructure projects. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for designing and developing infrastructure solutions for wind, transmission, and other renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the production of design packages for concept, tender, and detailed design phases of renewable energy projects.
  • Design and develop infrastructure solutions for wind, transmission, and other renewable energy projects, considering buildability, electrical component transport standards, environmental constraints, and statutory approvals.
  • Conduct site layout and route options for concept design for planning approval and environmental impact assessment purposes.
  • Develop bridge and retaining structure geometry, considering structural form and flooding levels, and coordinate geotechnical and structural design.
  • Assist with catchment assessments, culvert hydraulic design, including authorisations, and sustainable drainage design for rural or urbanised sites.
  • Design public highway concepts or detailed design, including geometry, drainage, signs, markings, swept-path analysis, considering pavement design and development of construction details for temporary or permanent modifications related to facilitating electrical component delivery.
  • Assist with the preparation of tender submission packages, including multi-disciplinary design statements and presentation drawings.
  • Compile as-built drawings and records.
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental hazards are identified and mitigated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Act as the point of contact for clients for selected work packages and participate in client project meetings as needed.
  • Implement relevant company project management framework quality processes.
  • Maintain awareness and support the attainment of financial targets relating to personal utilisation.

Requirements:

  • HND or HNC in Civil Engineering or similar qualification.
  • BTEC (equivalent or better) Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering or other recognised discipline or working towards qualification.
