Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Azure Infrastructure/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a focus on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to join our rapidly growing team. As a key member of our team, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure on Azure, ensuring the infrastructure's reliability and availability for data processing in the petabyte scale.
Responsibilities- Design and Implement Cloud Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure Azure infrastructure, with a focus on Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
- Monitor and Optimize Infrastructure: Continually monitor and optimize infrastructure for availability, performance, and cost-effectiveness
- Collaborate with Software Engineers: Collaborate with software engineers to ensure infrastructure effectively supports application requirements
- Maintain System Security: Maintain high-level system security and implement necessary security measures
- Optimize Infrastructure for Big Data: Utilize your expertise in big data to ensure infrastructure is optimized for data processing on a petabyte scale
- Lead Troubleshooting Efforts: Lead troubleshooting and resolution efforts for infrastructure issues, providing swift and reliable solutions
- Collaborate with Third-Party Entities: Collaborate with Third Party entities that are co-delivering to Customer to liaise and supply expertise on Cloud / Technical Devops
- Develop Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure design and specifications
- Work with Multiple Vendors: Work in collaboration with multiple third-party vendors on cutting-edge defense-facing programs, to include a plethora of sensor and cloud integration platforms
- Provide Technical Expertise: Consistent advisory and collaborative work on niche technical asks, demanding outside-the-box problem-solving to provide obscure solutions
- Experience in Azure Infrastructure and/or SRE Roles: 3+ years of experience in Azure Infrastructure and/or SRE roles. Azure certificates in Network, Admin, Security, and Hybrid Admin a plus. AWS experience is a plus
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Expertise: Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Pulumi or Terraform or CloudFormation along with experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters
- VPN and Overlay Services Expertise: Proficiency in implementing and integrating VPN solutions and overlay services, such as those from Cloudflare, into complex cloud-hosted network infrastructures
- Big Data Tools and Environments: Knowledge of big data tools and environments, having previously worked with at least 100TB of data at production scale
- SQL and noSQL Environments: Experience with SQL and noSQL environments
- Geospatial Data Formats: Familiarity with geospatial data formats such as Parquet/GeoParquet, GeoJSON, and Shapefiles is a plus.
- DevOps Tools: Experience in using DevOps tools such as Git, Docker, Jenkins, etc.
- Networking Concepts: Knowledge of networking concepts such as IP Protocol, DNS, and load balancing, spanning both hardware and software, with experience from cloud infrastructures to physical systems, ideally with exposure to CCNA certification.
- Orchestration Tools: Experience with orchestration like Dagster, Prefect, Airflow, or Temporal
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly in a high-performance environment.
- Communication Skills: The ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Technical concepts with a Defence focus are nice to have.
