About the Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Bernardes research laboratories, ensuring a productive and safe research environment for our team of 25+ members. This includes overseeing the maintenance of complex equipment, training group members, and assisting with the supervision of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the research laboratories, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all team members.
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of complex equipment, including training group members on its use.
- Assist with the supervision of junior team members, including PTIII students.
- Coordinate interactions with support staff within the Department.
- Develop and implement effective laboratory management and safety plans.
Requirements: The successful candidate will have a degree in Chemistry and significant experience in research coordination and group administration. They will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to relate well to a wide range of people, and the capacity to make independent decisions and take effective action.
