We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Emergency Medicine Consultant to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, leading medical teams, and contributing to the development of our well-established Children's Emergency Department.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant or trainee within 6 months of CCT who is trained in Paediatric Emergency Medicine (adult/paediatric background) or General Paediatrician with equivalent training. You will have experience in working in Paediatric Emergency Departments and Short Stay Units, with a strong track record of delivering service improvement and working effectively in multi-professional teams.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver acute care to ill and injured children and young people who attend the Children's ED
- Lead medical teams and contribute to the development of our department
- Educational and clinical supervision of trainees
- Deliver regular morning teaching sessions and engage in wider teaching opportunities for various levels of trainees
- Support trainees with research, audit, QIP, and other projects
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Paediatric EM Sub-speciality Training or equivalent experience
- CCST or CCT in Paediatrics/Emergency Medicine or eligible for above within 6 months of appointment
