Key Responsibilities
  • Support Student Learning: Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their academic goals.
  • Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with class teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide feedback on student progress.
  • Prepare Learning Materials: Assist in the preparation and adaptation of learning materials to meet the needs of students with special educational needs.
  • Foster a Positive Classroom Environment: Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Monitor Student Progress: Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents on student achievement.
  • Provide Personal Support: Provide personal care and support to students as needed, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience: Experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students.
  • Safeguarding: Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, with the ability to satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for a new one.
