Position: Library Services Coordinator

Overview:

The Library Services Coordinator at UK Research and Innovation plays a vital role in delivering exceptional support to library patrons by facilitating a diverse range of library services. This position is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of the library, which serves as a crucial resource for researchers and staff.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional assistance to library users by addressing various inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Manage document requests by identifying sources and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
  • Assist in the publication process by coordinating necessary paperwork and managing publication fee payments.
  • Support compliance with research funder policies regarding publications and inform researchers of relevant requirements.
  • Process orders for library materials and resolve any related payment issues.
  • Facilitate access to library collections and digital resources for users.
  • Maintain accurate records of book loans and follow up with users regarding overdue items.
  • Ensure proper cataloging of library materials and maintain an up-to-date database.
  • Conduct bibliographic searches to support the tracking of publications.
  • Monitor and manage the deposit of theses from PhD candidates.
  • Maintain organized library collections and ensure a tidy environment for users.
  • Oversee inventory levels of library supplies and reorder as necessary.
  • Assist in the promotion of library services and support new user orientations.

Working Relationships:

This role involves collaboration with the library team and regular interaction with researchers and staff across various levels. Building effective working relationships is crucial for success in this position.


Qualifications:

Essential:
- A-level education or equivalent experience.
- Experience in an office environment with a focus on user services.

Desirable:
- Experience in academic libraries or publishing sectors.


Skills and Attributes:

Essential:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:
- Familiarity with library search tools and resources.
