Job Title: Healthcare Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our client's growing team in the mental health space. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to patients.

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our clients. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be responsible for providing care and support to patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals and clinics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist qualified nurses in safely conveying and transferring patients.
  • Ensure adequate handover of patient details, including risk history and current presentation.
  • Complete paperwork required for patient transfers in the absence of an RMN.
  • Provide crisis intervention to patients experiencing mental health difficulties.
  • Respond to emergencies during your span of duty.
  • Attend all relevant training, meetings, and reviews.
  • Ensure good working relationships between staff and patients.
  • Report accidents, complaints, and untoward incidents promptly.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a Health Care Assistant in primary care and in mental health.
  • Act honestly and with integrity, demonstrating a caring and patient-centred approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
Desirable:
  • Healthcare related NVQ, BTEC, or equivalent at Level 3 National Care Certificate.
  • Experience of working within a nursing team and dealing with vulnerable patients.
