The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Fee Earners in a dynamic, open-plan setting. This position focuses on the defense of litigated motor claims for a diverse array of insurance clients. The successful individual will manage a variety of personal injury, credit hire, and counter fraud cases, taking ownership of their own caseload while supporting senior Fee Earners in various tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the successful candidate will encompass:
- Managing a personal caseload of pre and post-litigation motor defense files.
- Ensuring compliance with court deadlines and managing files according to court schedules.
- Engaging experts as needed.
- Collaborating with Counsel.
- Conducting thorough reviews of medical documentation.
- Communicating with clients, insurers, and third parties.
- Interacting with policyholders and witnesses.
- Negotiating settlements effectively.
- Drafting legal pleadings and court documents.
- Assisting colleagues with their caseloads as required.
- Performing additional tasks to ensure efficient case management.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing pre and post-litigation files for insurance clients.
- Background in defending credit hire, personal injury, and counter fraud cases for insurers.
- Competence in drafting court documents and familiarity with legal processes.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively.
- Composure under pressure, with the capability to adapt and delegate when necessary.
- Attention to detail, particularly in repetitive tasks.
