Fleet Maintenance Manager Job Description

Recra Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager to join their team in Leicester. As a key member of the engineering function, you will be responsible for managing the maintenance and repair of the company's fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the maintenance and repair of the company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring that all activities are carried out in line with the company's maintenance strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including Road Transport Legislation, LOLER, PUWER, and COSHH.
  • Assist the management team in implementing change and managing strong and weak performance, identifying training needs, and providing training and feedback.
  • Manage the company's Computerised Mobile Maintenance System and stock management, including allocation, issuing, and replenishment of stock.
  • Prepare and present KPIs and work closely with the operational team to deliver operational targets and drive process improvement.
  • Complete risk assessments and work-based method statements to ensure that maintenance health and safety is of the highest standard and legally compliant.
  • Monitor, review, and report on departmental expenditure and drive continuous improvement in maintenance-related tasks.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience of running a busy fleet workshop.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience of working in a fast-moving maintenance environment.
  • Good knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and other computer-based programs.
Personal Specification:
  • Previous experience working in the waste and recycling sector beneficial.
  • Good people skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a multi-skilled workforce and direct reports.
  • Computer literate.
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs including Mathematics and English.
  • Good communication skills, written and oral.
  • Dynamic and tenacious approach.
Working Hours:

Monday to Friday 8am-5pm, with every other Saturday required to be worked 6am-11am.
