Exciting Opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our integrated mental health team at HMP Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, providing high-quality clinical care to patients and contributing to the strategic direction of our mental health service.

About the Role

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing excellent clinical care, assessment, and treatment to patients on your caseload. You will also participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead senior mental health clinicians on service developments, and provide clinical supervision.

You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi-professional complex case reviews. Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Person Specification
  • Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
  • Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
  • Approved under section of the MHS 1983
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • Up-to-date knowledge in adult psychiatry and PD
  • Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy, and legislation
