Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and mental health concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, focusing on developing coping strategies, emotional regulation, and self-care techniques.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement education plans for students with mental health concerns.
  • Monitor students' progress and communicate effectively with teachers regarding their needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to relevant privacy and safeguarding laws and regulations.
  • Support teachers in managing student behavior and specialist needs.

Requirements:

  • GCSEs or equivalent in Mathematics.
  • Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or mental health setting.
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues affecting students, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about best practices in mental health support for students.
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of child safeguarding and respond to concerns effectively.

Working Environment:
