Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join our multidisciplinary team as a Consultant Physician in Stroke Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-standard care to the local community.

Main Duties of the Job

The stroke unit is currently a combined stroke unit and will be an Acute Stroke Centre (ASC) from July 2024. The post holders will join a team of 6 WTE stroke consultants, one of whom is a long-term locum. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Participating in ward rounds, reviewing new patients, HASU patients for the first 72 hours, and ASU patients
  • Leading clinics, including stroke clinics every other week and TIA clinics per week
  • Chairing weekly stroke ward MDT meetings
  • Participating in Regional out-of-hours on-call, using Telemedicine

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Full GMC Registration
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • MRCP (uk) or equivalent
  • Holds CCT or equivalent or will obtain within 6 months of interview date

  • Wide experience in Stroke Medicine
