Our Bathgate facility has an opening for an Apprentice Maintenance Technician, you will work with the Maintenance Technicians to ensure that the equipment used in tasks associated with the packaging of clinical trial materials are operated and maintained in compliance with work instructions, documented procedures and cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices). 

The Role

  • Be responsible for equipment set up, change overs, maintenance and breakdowns in the Packaging areas, working co-operatively with Operations to reduce downtime and enhance equipment performance.

  • Conduct Routine Packaging Equipment Maintenance as per CAM Plant Maintenance Schedule

  • Carry out Facilities maintenance tasks as directed by the Supervisor.

  • Script validation documentation URS, DQ, PP, IOQ and PQ and RQ.  

  • Execute qualification, requalification and performance qualification of all packaging equipment

  • Maintain clean equipment store, ensuring all tooling and spare parts as required by equipment are available for operation, maintenance or repairs

  • Assist in the training of Packaging Operators and other relevant staff regarding equipment specific needs.

  • Input Routine Maintenance Check results into CAM Plant Maintenance System

  • Conduct Equipment and General Risk Assessments and COSHH assessment for Packaging / Facilities

  • Assist on Environment, Health and Safety Programmes owned by the team

  • Conduct Equipment and General Risk Assessments

The Candidate

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Math’s at grade C/5 or above - required

  • A passion for learning and a positive mindset

  • Ability to produce high quality work with excellent attention to detail.

  • To be able to work as a team

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • GMP experience
