**Responsibilities**:

- Identifies and articulates problems in an area of research that are academically novel and may directly or indirectly impact business opportunities.
- Advances a research agenda aligned with the team direction through one or more research projects, yielding new algorithms, prototypes, theories, tools, methods, analyses, insights, or collections of data in one or more subareas or a broad area of research.
- Contributes to ethics and privacy policies related to research processes and/or data/information collection by following and suggesting improvements to internal best practices. Develops and deploys computing technologies that uphold trustworthiness, robustness, privacy, values, and ethical considerations.
- Collaborates with other relevant researchers or research groups to contribute to or advance a research agenda. Reviews papers and organizes workshops or conference sessions. Publishes papers as (co-)lead or senior author for high-quality conferences and journals, with an impact similar to that of a (United States) assistant professor.
- Provides mentorship by participating in onboarding to less experienced team members (e.g., interns, early-in-career researchers) and guiding less experienced team members in processes and scenarios, research projects, and their careers.

**Qualifications**:
Required:

- PhD in deep learning or equivalent experience.
- An established research program demonstrated by journal and conference publications.
- Strong understanding of state-of-the-art machine learning approaches.
- Hands-on experience in implementing and empirically evaluating machine learning approaches.
- Experience presenting research findings.
- Experience working on a team contributing to long-term team goals.

Preferred:

- Experience presenting to a wide range of diverse audiences.
- Demonstrable ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
