We are seeking two Early Years Practitioners to work as part of a professional team ensuring the welfare and care for children. The role helps support young children as they learn, develop and prepare for School.

**Working week**

This is a year round part-time position, worked over 5 days Mon-Fri (with 30 minutes for break, which is unpaid). 30 hours per week working either early 7.00-1.30pm or late 12.00-6.30pm).

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Having safeguarding of, and a commitment to, pupils at the heart of your practice and working within the School’s safeguarding requirements at all times.
- Working within the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory requirements.
- Working positively, enthusiastically and proactively as part of a vibrant and imaginative team.
- Wearing an Early Years uniform to facilitate activities appropriate to the age group and deliver strong and exciting messages about our brand and provision.
- Be responsible for the pupils’ pastoral and academic welfare as a Key Person in Nursery, working in conjunction with Early Years, Wraparound Care and Holiday Club staff, as well as teachers, Management, Pastoral and SEN staff as appropriate.
- Liaise with parents and carers as appropriate, in conjunction with the Head(s) of Nursery, Head of Early Years and teaching staff.
- Support the delivery of outstanding practice in and out of term time to deliver the curriculum and facilitate independence across all areas of EY learning and development, in coordination with other members of the EYFS team.
- Lead planned activities where appropriate.
- Support the development and delivery of effective and secure routines in Early Years, including sleep and care routines.
- Preparation, care, cleanliness, maintenance and re-stocking of Early Years spaces, facilities and equipment.
- Participating in daily, weekly and termly safety and risk assessment procedures.
- Using School methods and structures to plan, record and assess, and working within School procedures and practices at all times.
- Be responsible for monitoring pupil progress through observation, assessment, tracking, and record keeping.

**About the employer**

From July 2023 Walthamstow Hall will welcome girls into Nursery from age 2. They will then progress into Pre-School in the September before their 4th birthday. Pupils who join our Nursery or Pre-School are well-prepared to start full-time education and have a guaranteed place in Walthamstow Hall Reception class.
