**Location**: Andover, but required to travel and work from all other Pure sites as required
**Reports to**: Managing Director - People
**Hours**: Part time 22.5 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Officer on a part time basis, to take responsibility for the management and leadership of Group health and safety requirements, ensuring and promoting health & safety within the workplace, and implementing accident prevention, and health & safety measures across the Group.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and improve health and safety performance through implementation of health and safety management systems, and create and embed a proactive employee culture of health and safety across the Group.
- Ensure employee working environments are safe, and compliant, implementing protective and preventative measures as required by law and/or by the Pure group, liaising with the Buildings and Facilities Manager as required.
- Oversee consistency of delivery of health & safety, and identify and pursue significant issues.
- Coordinate audit reviews with external health & safety consultant, and in liaison with site management and Buildings & Facilities Manager ensure audit health & safety compliance actions are completed for all sites.
- Carry out internal health & safety audits to support and maintain annual external audit requirements, and Group good practice.
- Develop effective health & Safety policies and procedures, and carry out risk assessments
- In liaison with service managers ensure the proper use of protective clothing, safety devices, and conduct routine checks
- Compile statistics on accidents and injuries, analyse their cause and make recommendations to management accordingly
- Liaise with HR dept re accidents at work and investigate as required, producing reports and recommendations
- Liaise with HR dept on health and wellbeing issues particularly where risk assessments are required, and complete risk assessment as required.
- Liaise with HR dept to develop an appropriate supporting workplace wellbeing programme
- Retain Near Miss records, and undertake any remedial action with relevant service management
- Liaise with site management to ensure First Aid equipment and First Aid Boxes are reviewed and updated as per Health & Safety requirements
- Liaise with site management, Buildings & Facilities manager, to ensure security and night lighting at all sites are in working order to ensure site safety
- Liaise with site management to ensure monthly fire equipment checks are well maintained and carried out on sites.
- Liaise with site management to ensure weekly fire alarm tests are carried out on all sites.
- Liaise with site management to ensure first aiders and fire marshals are appointed on all sites, training completed, and regular meetings take place.
- Liaise with site management and L&D Dept to ensure forklift training completed.
- Develop relevant Group health and safety policy and procedure, in liaison with the HR dept.
- Develop a Driver framework focusing on health and safety good practices, and prevention of drugs and alcohol usage.
- Provide management information, reports and attend meetings as required.

**About you**
- A IOSH or Nebosh qualification with a proven track record in a similar role
- Capable of reviewing, improving and embedding health and safety compliance and safe practice.
- Experienced in carrying out investigations, assessing risk, and drafting risk assessments.
- Capable of developing and promoting a positive H&S culture including a H&S action plans and conducting internal audits.
- Able to build successful positive relations with internal management and external H&S Consultants.
- Experience of COSHH Controls
- Used to carrying out Site inspections and Site inductions.
- Experience of developing, delivering coaching, and training as required.
- A strong positive communicator with excellent report writing and statistical analysis skills
- A collaborative team player who will look to continually improve the Group’s approach.
- Strong problem solver, who is calm and considered when action required.
