**Note**:This role requires the applicant to have a drivers Licence and access to transport.

**1.Introduction**:
REACT Victims and Survivors Project offers Health and Well Being, Social Support, Welfare Advice and Outreach Services to individuals directly affected by the Northern Ireland ‘Troubles’, their families, and carers in the County Armagh area.

This post is funded under the National Lottery People and Communities Fund through the REACT Better Together Project.

**Responsible to**:Service Manager

**Salary**:£16939 (Salaries based on NIVCA Scale 5 Point 12)

**Hours of Employment**:Part Time 25 hours per week

**Contract**:Until the 31st March 2025 (Extension dependant on funding)

**Annual Leave**:25 days annual holidays plus bank/public holidays, pro rata.

**Training Opportunities**:The post holder will be provided with ongoing training, learning and development opportunities to support their personal and professional development.

**Better Together Project Activity Worker**

**Tasks and Responsibilities**

The post holder will:

- Work as part of the team to assist with the development, planning, delivery and evaluation of the Better Together Project.
- Support the delivery and evaluation of online, home and community based social support and wellbeing activities for victims and survivors of the Northern Ireland Troubles.
- Support the delivery of the Better Together Project service users digital community support hub.
- Develop meaningful relationships with service users so we can organise and deliver activities to suit their needs.
- Support service users to understand and use social media platforms.
- Record all work undertaken and provide written records of the work as required.
- Cost and procure materials and resources for activities.
- Encourage service users to participate in the planning, delivery and evaluation of the project where possible.
- Maintain confidentiality and work within the boundaries of the data protection act, safeguarding, and health and safety legislation.
- Comply with REACT policies and procedures.
- Have a flexible attitude to working evenings and weekends when required.

**General**
- Work as an active and integral part of the REACT team.
- Work with staff on issues relating to REACT Victims and Survivors Project when appropriate to the effective delivery of services.
- Undertake such other duties as shall be required from time to time

**3.** **Person Specification**

**Better Together Project Activity Worker**

The applicant must have the following:
**Essential Education**
- Recognised qualification in a relevant field to a minimum of diploma level

**Essential Skills, Qualities and Knowledge**
- A good understanding of the needs of individuals who have been physically and psychological impacted by trauma.
- An interest in activities such as arts and crafts, cooking, up cycling, gardening and walking.
- Access to own method of transport to be able to travel as required for the post.
- Excellent listening and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Willing and able to work in different environments, including being office based and spending time on the ground within the community.

**Essential Experience**
- Minimum 1 years experience of supporting individuals with mental and physical health needs.

**Desirable Experience**
- Experience of developing and delivering group activities for older people.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Volunteer
Part-time hours: 25 per week

**Salary**: £16,939.00 per year
