**Workshop Controller**
Reporting to the workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the workshop and the maintenance of our fleet of large goods vehicles & Light Commercial Vehicles in accordance with our Operators licence & manufactures specifications.
**About the Job**:
As the Workshop Controller, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our workshop. Your responsibilities will include assisting the management of a team of Technicians to optimise workflow and productivity, ensuring timely and accurate repairs that meet the highest standards of quality. Additionally, you will step in to cover for the Workshop Manager during absences, ensuring continuity of operations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Allocating work to the supervisors / technicians within the Workshop.
- Planning and allocation of breakdowns for staff strengths.
- Management and coordination of down time with departments, personnel & manufacturers.
- Liaising with the workshop manager for heavy / light commercial vehicle workloads.
- Ensure all Inspection paper work is fully completed and signed off.
- Ability to react to changing demands.
- Give regular updates to departmental managers / supervisors on progress of repairs.
- Ensuring all associated administration is completed to a high standard, accurate and completed in a timely manner.
- Manage & comply with Health and Safety regulations and ensuring the workshop is a safe place to work.
- Ensure all M J Church policies & procedures are followed.
- Lead by example developing a culture of continuous improvement.
- Cover for the Site Manager during periods of absence
- Actively always maintain a clean & safe working environment
**What you will need to join the team**:
- You will be self-motivated and hardworking
- A team player when working as part of our team
- Using your initiative when working individually
- Maintain high standards of house-keeping
- Be able to problem solve and work well under pressure
- Possess a full UK driving licence
- Understanding of Health and Safety in a workshop environment
- Standard working hours are Monday - Friday, 0700hrs -1700hrs.
