**About the role**
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a **Senior Planner** to join our Highways team to work on schemes initially working on the M4/ M5 central reserve upgrade project. This scheme is part of an Alliance framework with National Highways and you will be involved with the planning the programme through to completion. This will test you and develop you while understanding how we work in preparation for the large more complex schemes in the future which will provide you with career progression and increased responsibility.

You will become part of a small growing family of planners who support, guide and are the critical friend of the projects, this team is a high performing and highly regarded team which is growing and aspiring to become the best working for National Highways.

Your role will involve building and servicing the contract programme, managing the collaborative planning to ensure that the delivery teams achieve what is in your programme. Communication skills and good planning and programming skills are a must for you to succeed.

**What you'll be doing**
As a **Senior Planner **you will:

- Ensure that the programme content is functionally compliant with the planning procedures and guidance;
- Identify planning scope, major constraints and contract requirements;
- Identify major quantities and factors affecting the programme;
- Establish and agree with Operations construction outputs and agreeing working hours with appropriate Estimator;
- Establish and agreeing with Operations and Bid Team key methods of construction, sequencing, installation and commissioning.

**Who we're looking for**
You will:

- Have substantial experience of planning services within large complex environments within the construction and engineering industry;
- Have good experience in the use of planning techniques and the required planning tool-sets;
- Hold a relevant CSCS Card;
- Be a good communicator to explain and relay the programme to the operations teams;
- Be experienced in the use of Primevera P6, within an enterprise structure.
