**Chef Manager**

**Location - Canterbury, Kent**

**Salary - £32,000**

Do you have previous experience of running an efficient catering service?

Do you have an understanding of budgets, sales and forecasting?

We have a unique opportunity in Canterbury for a Chef Manager to work for one of our clients. In this role you will be working full time.

**Responsibilities**
- Work with the chef to plan appropriate menus for pupils and non-pupil service within agreed standards and budgets
- Carry out regular risk assessments of all kitchen areas, with visual and physical periodical checks
- Manage the purchasing of food ensuing quality is of the highest standard from reputable suppliers and sources
- Prepare costings for internal/external events and advising Catering Accounts Manager as appropriate
- Monitor Kitchen waste management and provide support in reducing this waste
- Check all invoices, submitting relevant paperwork to finance promptly
- Carry out quality controls on all deliveries and assist in stock taking and providing data for monthly stock taking analysis
- Assist with recruiting and training kitchen staff
- Regularly appraise catering team
- Oversee the preparation of staff rota’s for catering team

**Skills and Experience**
- NVQ levels 1, 2 & 3 in catering and hospitality or equivalent
- Excellent people skills
- Previous experience of running an efficient catering service
- An understanding of budgets, sales, and forecasting
