StorTera is looking for a skilled and experienced engineer to join our team in Edinburgh and support the development of our ground-breaking Single Liquid Flow Battery.

As a Control & Instrumentation Engineer, you will be part of a team working to develop and design state-of-the-art control systems for our flow battery. The technology has the potential to revolutionise the energy industry and you will be part of the teamthat makes this possible.

**The Key Responsibilities of a Control & Instrumentation Engineer include, but are not limited to**:

- Design engineering of Flow Battery control systems
- Providing technical specifications for embedded control systems implementation
- Testing and construction of specialised laboratory test rigs
- Implement designed control algorithms on PLCs or specialized developer boards
- Development of test plans and undertake laboratory-based testing of prototype systems against design specs
- Co-ordinating with external contractors for full system design
- Controlling costs and meet project deadlines
- Problem-solving, providing technical and hands on support

**The Key Skills and Qualities of a Control and Instrumentation Engineer are**:

- Electronic/Control Engineering degree
- Battery management/control systems knowledge
- MODBUS/CANBUS knowledge
- Matlab/Simulink, C, C++, Python experience
- Cloud-based processing/time-series databases exp.
- PLC/SCADA/HMI programming experience
- Strong organisation/time-management
- Effective communication/interpersonal skills
- Commitment to high standards/environment
- 3+ yrs professional experience
