Mane Energy - Senior Instrument Engineer Position

Mane Energy is collaborating with an engineering consultancy specializing in both upstream and downstream energy. They are seeking a Senior Instrument Engineer to join their team in either their Aberdeen or Glasgow office. This position is available in both staff and contract roles. Hybrid working options are available.

Key Duties:
  1. Ensure that the work output of Instrument personnel under their supervision complies with the relevant, Client, national & international standards & procedures. This will be generally achieved by applying the company's checking & approval procedure for all created documents & calculations.
  2. Provide technical assistance to Instrument personnel as required, including developing their knowledge and skills through mentoring.
  3. Ensure all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule.
  4. Stay informed about current and new legislation and standards (e.g., BS, API, Client codes and standards, DCR, HS&E Regulations, and EU Directives).
  5. Prepare engineering and construction scope for man-hours and equipment estimates and assist in reviewing proposed schedules.
  6. Ensure that results of any development work are fully utilized in Instrument activities.
  7. Provide technical assistance to other disciplines as necessary.
  8. Produce cost-effective designs that are fit for purpose and safe.
  9. Participate in discussions with Clients and visit job sites as required.
  10. Assist the Lead Engineer in the execution of their responsibilities and duties when requested.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in an electrical/Instrument engineering related discipline (Desirable)
  • HNC or equivalent in an electrical/Instrument engineering related discipline.
  • Knowledgeable in and practical application of control and safety systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and control and shutdown valves.
  • Skilled in Instrument engineering principles and their application in engineering projects.
  • BOSIET Offshore survival certification (Desirable)
  • Current offshore medical certificate (Desirable)
