Applications are invited for a part-time Assistant Research Psychologist post (Band 4) for 1 year.

Applicants should be graduate psychologists, ideally with some experience working within an NHS context or on initiatives relating to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).

The post-holder will also have the opportunity to be involved with a range of initiatives on the course. Such initiatives include aiming to support equity of access to training for individuals from minority ethnic backgrounds and also, broader EDI work on the course.

Applications from individuals from minority ethnic backgrounds are encouraged.

The post is an exciting opportunity to support the development and implementation of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) initiatives on the doctoral course at the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training and Research. Applicants should be graduate psychologists, ideally with some experience working within an NHS context or on initiatives relating to EDI.

This role will involve assisting with the delivery of training and workshops, liaising with and presenting to local NHS teams, organising events relating to the mentoring scheme and other careers events, regularly meeting with mentors and mentees on the scheme and assisting with evaluation of the mentoring scheme and other EDI initiatives.

The post-holder should be enthusiastic about supporting initiatives to support aspiring psychologists from minority ethnic backgrounds and engaging in EDI work.

The post-holder should also have strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, have the ability to deliver work according to deadlines, and be flexible. It will be helpful to have some awareness and understanding of barriers that may be faced by individuals from minority groups.

The post-holder will support the Mentoring Lead (Dr Reena Vohora) with delivering the course mentoring scheme for aspiring psychologists from minority ethnic backgrounds and have the opportunity to be involved with a range of initiatives on the course.

Such initiatives include aiming to support equity of access to training for individuals from minority ethnic backgrounds and also, broader EDI work on the course.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To work closely with the Mentoring Lead to develop and implement the second round of the course mentoring scheme
- To assist with the recruitment of mentors (trainees and staff working locally in the NHS)
- To be a point of contact and respond to queries from mentees and mentors
- Liaising with psychologists working locally and nationally
- To support the organisation and delivery of workshops and training for mentees and mentors
- To maintain databases with details of mentees and mentors
- To assist with the evaluation of the mentoring scheme
- To regularly meet with the Mentoring Lead to provide updates on the scheme
- To write brief reports relating to the mentoring scheme
- To carry out literature reviews on key areas relating to EDI work on the course
- To support work in the Access and Outreach group on the course
- To support work in the Equity of Access group on the course
- Attendance at supervision will be expected, and at appropriate team meetings
- Administrative duties related to the project
- Other duties appropriate to the grade as directed by the Mentoring Lead
- Work within the guidelines set out by the Data Protection Act, the Code of Ethics, and with full understanding of confidentiality issues

Hours - 2.5 days/week (18.75 hours)

12 month contract
