Job Details

Our client is a rapidly growing law firm with around 900 lawyers across 23 offices in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. They are a full-service firm operating in business areas such as Corporate, Employment, Technology and IP.

They are now looking to recruit Revenue Controller; this role is to join our Revenue Control Team within the Finance department and will report to the Senior Revenue Controller.

**Responsibilities**:

- Overall control and responsibility of the WIP management for several practice areas to ensure WIP is actively managed by partners.
- Seek in-depth knowledge of client agreed fee arrangements (e.g., fixed fee/volume discount/contingent) and track and monitor billing activity to ensure compliance.
- Monthly meetings with partners/senior counsel to review WIP/disbursements exposure, information gather on key matters/clients and follow up all action points.
- Updating matter exposure notes to ensure all WIP reports are current with the latest information to include expected recovery rates, billing dates, areas of concern which should be flagged and monitored.
- Raise bills for assigned departments when required throughout the month and at month ends and assist with billing queries.
- Action writes offs / transfers / fee earner matter amends.
- Monitor High Level exposure items (WIP/Disbursements), ensuring timely billing, providing pre bill guides/narratives when required.
- Ensure any client monies showing on exposure reports are cleared down regularly.
- Updating Senior Finance Team members on the status of specific client/partner exposures.
- Monitor the internal Revenue Control Inbox, ensuring work is allocated to the correct Revenue Controller.
- Work with the Senior eBiller/Billing Team, helping to ensure WIP is being billed in accordance with Client eBilling guidelines.
- Preparation and distribution of client statements and exposure/accrual reports as and when required.
- Client reconciliations and analysis.
- Dealing with day-to-day queries from fee earners/colleagues and external clients.
- Assistance with other ad hoc queries as required.
- Experience of working in a Revenue Control environment in the legal sector.
- Knowledge of Billing.
- High degree of inputting accuracy required.
- Self-motivated, confident and proactive when dealing with fee earners.
- Aderant experience preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and confident in working with excel to provide data analysis and reconciliations
- Basic understanding of the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and relevant VAT legislation.
