At GIG Retail, we provide expert retail strategy to a range of high-profile clients. We help to drive brand and retailer sales by creating, delivering and evaluating customer-focused campaigns, across a host of retail-focused marketing and sales activity.

**About the Role**:
You will join a new team dedicated to being a one stop shop for all category & media insight for GIG and our client, a major supermarket chain.

Specialise in a trading area, you will ensure a full understanding of all media and trading activity within your category and be able to translate the data into meaningful insight and strategy for our client, GIG & suppliers. The insights will be used toinform category strategy, category marketing campaigns and shape future supplier proposals.

This role will work closely with the category account management teams, the client’s category lead and category planners.

**Reporting to the Head of Insights, you will**:

- Support the sales team in growing supplier media spend, by providing data led insight context to the performance of category and supplier media activity with actionable insight recommendations.
- Interpret aggregated data to create compelling category and supplier insight reviews.
- Generate case studies, cross category and calendar event performance reports as well as supporting thought leadership pieces
- Support post campaign analytics by adding insight value to observations & recommendations.
- Play an active role in internal and external media review meetings
- Deliver outstanding client service
- Build relationships with internal trading teams, providing trusted advisory on insight and provide recommendations to assist media plans

**Experience and Knowledge**:

- Relevant industry experience, ideally within insights or category management (retailer, agency or supplier) or with project/account management/planning
- Ability to interpret data and manipulate it
- Strong communication and storytelling skills
- Experience with Media Data highly desirable
- Ideally, degree educated
