**Who we are**

PRISM youth project is a unique charity based near the centre of Bradford, working with some of the hardest to reach young people from across the district, across two sites including an inner-city farm.

**What we need**

We are seeking to grow and offer new and updated services to all our young people. To do this we are seeking an engagement worker to support volunteers and student placements whilst working with the animals on the city farm site.

We are enthusiastic and ambitious to grow and improve to support young people from across the district.

Friday - 8.30 - 3.30

Saturday 9-4

Sunday 9-4

Monday 8.30-4 (moving to 12-8 when more projects are running)

Tuesday 8.30-5 (moving to 12-8 when more projects are running)

**Main tasks of job**:
1. Ensure a high standard of health and safety is adhered to at all times.

2. Ensure the 5 freedoms are abided to whilst working with all animals on site

3. Ensure that an up-to-date risk assessment is available for all activities to be carried out on site.

4. Facilitate a range of practical tasks with land-based volunteers, student placements and work groups.

5. Liaise with the staff team to ensure that all animal related responsibilities and tasks are allocated to a member of staff, and if required to do so, filling in to ensure the daily care needs of the animals are met.

6. Attend and contribute to meetings to identify tasks, health and safety issues and provide updates in relation to post

7. Raise any concerns around health and safety with the management team as soon as possible

8. Participate in supervision with line manager

9. Participate in regular CPD activities as directed by line manager

10. Contribute to the identification and planning of tasks to be completed around the sites

11. Supervising land-based student placements including liaising with colleges where required to meet course requirements

12. Supervising land-based volunteers, including completion of the induction process, reviewing the CPD file

13. Completion of the individual volunteer plan

14. To facilitate sessions with work groups

15. To have minute review sessions with volunteers

16. Demonstrate ability to work using own initiative, demonstrating a high level of self-organising ability.

17. To supervise evening groups, staffing, young people and volunteers.

18. Responsibility for health and safety of activities undertaken on evening group projects.

19. Ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to on all evening projects.

20. Demonstrate ability to work to a set timescale and deadlines

21. Work alongside other projects to ensure services users receive a seamless service

22. Adhere to Prism’s policies and procedures in relation to all aspects of the organisation, ensuring that all service users including pupils are safeguarded and concerns reported as required

23. To be an advocate for Prism both within and outside of the organisation

24. Produce written professional reports in relation to the role when required

25. Ability work evenings and weekends when required

26. Any other reasonable tasks as directed by senior management

**Licences, registrations and qualifications**

1. Full Clean Driving licence desirable

2. Grade C GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English

4. Experience of managing a team of 5+ staff for a minimum of 2 years - essential

5. Experience of working with Farm animals’ minimum of 2 years. - essential

6. Experience of supporting young people with mental health or who are socially excluded - desirable
