**Job description**:
Working within the Commercial Optimisation Team, the post is challenging, it requires pro-active and innovative thinking, with good communication skills and an attention to detail.
- You will play a leading role within the Low Value Procurement policy and procedure strategy.
- You will manage Quality Assurance reviews into buyer behaviour as well as working on the buyer training programme, all to ensure the Delegated Purchasing Authority is being used correctly.
- You will also ensuring the Dynamic Purchasing System, is delivering value for money by reviewing the system and the supplier performance within.
- You will be required to communicate with a range of stakeholders and analyse detailed information to ensure policy is fit for purpose and guarantees best working practises.
- Your work on policy will help ensure Senior Managers are able to make informed decisions that affect the wider DWP activity.
- The post holder will also support their respective line managers in all the necessary commercial activity to the enable best Value for Money solutions to be realised.
- The overriding responsibility is to provide commercial assurance on the Low Value Procurement and the Dynamic Purchasing System ensuring we achieve value for money on expenditure.

The Commercial Optimisation Team is relatively newly created, this is a great opportunity to shape the future path of the team.

**Person specification**:
The roles and responsibilities for this position include, but are not restricted to:
**Commercial Strategy**
- Provide commercial advice to a range of stakeholders, supporting colleagues with market engagement, sourcing, tendering and procurement activities.

**Stakeholder Management / Engagement / Communication**
- Working with stakeholders at all levels (internal and external) to develop strategy and methods for procurement initiatives.
- Develop positive supplier relationships and manage supplier activity with the “Dynamic Purchasing System”, and a strong (internal) customer service ethic.
- Oversee the accreditation process of suppliers onto DWP systems.

**Leadership**
- Play an active part in supporting Commercial Directorate values and culture.

**Review and implementation of Policy**
- Manage the Low Value Provision Policy, produce updated terms and conditions documentation ensuring the policy is fit for purpose and supports Commercial procurement activity.
- Manage the Delegated Purchasing Authority process, involving checks on training and manage the performance of buyer activity.
