We are looking for a **Clinical Coder** that is willing to work on site at **Plymouth.**
They are needed on site and work from home is not possible.

Key Responsibilities:
~ To analyse and abstract complex diagnostic and procedural information from patient records across all clinical specialties
~ To routinely access all electronic clinical systems available to ensure all relevant details are recorded for each patient spell
~ To maintain high levels of concentration for long periods to ensure all discharged patient spells are coded by SUS submission deadlines
~ To assist in resolving coding queries as raised by members of the Clinical Coding team, sharing expertise and assisting in the interpretation of complex information ensuring national standards are met.
~ To regularly liaise with clinical staff from all specialties and discuss and understand complex diagnoses and procedures where it is necessary in order to assign accurate coding
~ To regularly communicate data quality issues with clinical systems teams to instigate correction of errors and highlight to management teams in order to improve data quality
~ To regularly communicate issues with uncoded discharges via internal reporting processes in the agreed format
~ To regularly check and act on internal KPI reports
~ To implement policies for own work area and propose policy or service changes which impact on the Trust
~ Ensure all queries raised by other Trust staff are resolved promptly and effectively, or where appropriate are referred to the Clinical Coding management team.
~ To be prepared to provide cover and flexibility to meet the needs of the office on any given day, including the Clinical Coding management team
~ To ensure 100% personal compliance with all mandatory training modules

Qualification:

- National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ) (ACC degree level)
- Has passed a Clinical Coding Refresher Course within the last 3 years
- Clinical Coding Standards Course
- Clinical Coding Workshops including: o Neoplasms o Vascular o Obstetrics o T&O
- Evidence of ongoing professional development

** Contract for minimum 3 months with £13-15/h, Monday
- Friday **

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: £13.00-£15.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
