Aila is excited to announce that it’s in partnership with a leading, listed, energetic and multi-site leisure business in the recruitment of a Commercial Finance Analyst, east of Milton Keynes on a permanent basis. Their turnover is c.£120m, they’re excitedabout the future and operate through 49 sites across the UK with plans to increase this. They have a very supportive and inclusive culture in their head office and the commercial finance team are looking for somebody that can grow in the role and stay withthe business long term.
We’re looking for ideally a part qualified and commercially minded individual who has advanced Excel skills and wants an analytical role dealing with large data sets. This would suit someone with experience in financial analysis or who has had exposure to managementaccounts and would like to pivot into a more analytical role.
You will play a key role in reporting financial and non-financial information to senior stakeholders across the business. You will be a confident and assuring individual with good Excel skills and the ability to build relationships across the wider business.A strongly analytical mind and a problem-solving mindset is essential as the business is continuously changing and it’s a fast-paced environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Weekly trading and promotional reporting on their 49 sites as well as longer term projects and business initiatives, including post implementation reviews on new sites and capital investments, highlighting any risks and identifying opportunities for furthergrowth.
- Providing timely and accurate financial analysis for the entire group, delivering regular data and insight to assist senior management in decision making to drive overall company performance.
- Assisting with managing the marketing P&L which includes the month end process, budgeting and re-forecasting and analysing the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
- Assisting with business partnering to ensure their initiatives are delivering strong returns on investments.
- Ownership of capital asset spend analysis and forecasting, ensuring senior management are aware of any risks or opportunities within their capital investment plans.
- Create, refine, and automate reporting tools, models and dashboards that provide analysis and insight into KPIs.
- Provide support to the Senior Commercial Reporting Analyst and the wider finance team on annual projects including reforecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.

To be successful in this role, you will have advanced Excel skills and be able to interpret and communicate findings from large sets of data to senior stakeholders. It would be beneficial if you have had exposure to Power BI and dashboards but this is not essential.
