Rotational Pharmacist

Following the Dorset Clinical Services Review, University Hospital Dorset was created merging two hospitals; the Bournemouth site is developing into the major emergency care hospital and Poole site into the major planned care hospital for Dorset. Work is well underway not only to the buildings but also to the pharmacy service at University Hospitals Dorset. To keep pace with this change we are looking for Band 6 Rotational Pharmacists to join the team and help shape the pharmacy service for the future.

This position aims to ensure that all essential aspects of hospital pharmacy are covered within the first two years of appointment. Rotations will take place across both Bournemouth and Poole sites so enabling exposure and participation in learning from the different clinical specialities at each location. The current rotations include Medicines Information, Women's and Children's Medicine, Older Persons Medicine, General Medicine, Surgery and Trauma, Acute Medicine, Aseptic Services, Medical Specialities (cardiology, gastroenterology, respiratory, endocrinology). We are developing the rotations to include Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine, Clinical Trials and Governance and Risk.
