**About us**

The National Holocaust Centre and Museum (NHCM) is the only organisation dedicated to Holocaust remembrance and education in the UK and it plays a unique role as a memorial, a museum, a place of testimony and learning.

Set in a beautiful rural location near England’s last open-field farming village - yet only 90 minutes from Central London - we are the only place of Holocaust remembrance and learning in the world founded by non-Jewish people. The remarkable Smith family designed and built it in 1995, creating a uniquely peaceful and contemplative ‘safe space’ including beautiful memorial rose gardens. Rapidly, they attracted not only visitors and large school groups but

an amazing team of Holocaust survivors for whom we became a home from home. We blossomed into an Arts Council and Heritage Fund-supported museum of global creative excellence. We lead confidently in digital engagement, through our interactive testimony experience ‘The Forever Project’, but the warm Smith family ethos endures, as does our beloved family of Holocaust survivors. Their stories will always remain at the heart of our learning programmes.

A Nottinghamshire-based charity with two permanent museum exhibitions, we welcome members of the public and school groups to learn about the roots of prejudice and discrimination and how they can respond as critical thinkers today. To further expand our reach, we have a growing range of outreach programmes and digital offerings. Our primary audience is school pupils and is becoming increasingly national. In the last year, over 30,000 pupils have benefited from the expertise and care of our educators, and we want to grow this further. We seek to gain and retain school customers who move beyond annual visitors to members of our continuous learning community.

In order to grow our reach into new schools and audiences, we now wish to appoint a Schools Marketing Coordinator. If you are looking for a role with clear moral purpose, based in a warm and expert education team, then this is the position for you

**Job Purpose and requirements**:
In the next two years, we are seeking to double the number of young people who benefit from our programmes on site, in school and online. The Schools Marketing Coordinator will play a critical role in increasing our reach to schools and developing and implementing high impact, cost effective, integrated communication strategies that deliver against targets to increase footfall, engagement and income. You will develop key relationships with schools, Multi-Academy Trusts and educational organisations.
