Barista/cook

**Job Title: Part time Barista/Cook**

**Location**:Wantage, Oxfordshire

We're looking for someone to join our weekend team at our popular café in Wantage town centre and Kingsgrove creating simple high quality meals and beverages in addition to delivering excellent customer service.

This role is for weekend cover, with the potential to work week days when needed.

**The role will include**:

- Creating simple meals using quality ingredients
- Operating the coffee machine and creating delicious beverages
- Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and ensuring sanitation practices are maintained
- Complying with food handling and storage standards
- Washing, peeling and preparing ingredients
- Monitoring stock levels and minimising wastage
- Working in a small team
- Efficient record keeping including daily temperature checks
- Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen, equipment and facilities are to the highest standards at all times
- Cash handling and a hands on approach across all areas of the business
- Aware of allergies, cross contamination and food safety standards
- Implementing new ideas for attracting customers

**You must have**:

- Experience working in role where you have prepared and cooked food in a catering environment
- A full clean driving licence
- Willingness to help out in other areas of the business from time to time
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Organised and capable of multi-tasking with exceptional attention to detail
- High standards of personal hygiene and personal appearance
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to work as part of team
- Excellent time management
- Commercially focussed and driven to maximise sales and minimise waste

**Hours**:Between 8am and 4pm.

**Rate of Pay**:11.30 per hour

**Job Types**: Part-time, Zero hours contract

**Salary**: £11.30 per hour
