Sunday Cook/barista

**Job Title: Cook/Barista**

**Location**:Wantage, Oxfordshire

We're looking for someone to join our weekend team in our popular Wantage café.

**The role will include**:

- Creating simple meals using quality ingredients
- Operating the coffee machine and creating delicious beverages
- Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and ensuring sanitation practices are maintained
- Complying with food handling and storage standards
- Washing, peeling and preparing ingredients
- Monitoring stock levels and minimising wastage
- Working in a small team
- Efficient record keeping including daily temperature checks
- Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen, equipment and facilities are to the highest standards at all times
- Cash handling and a hands on approach across all areas of the business
- Aware of allergies, cross contamination and food safety standards
- Implementing new ideas for attracting customers

**You must have**:

- Experience working in role where you have prepared and cooked food in a catering environment
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Organised and capable of multi-tasking with exceptional attention to detail
- High standards of personal hygiene and personal appearance
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to work as part of team
- Excellent time management
- Commercially focussed and driven to maximise sales and minimise waste

**Hours**: This role is primarily for a Sunday shift between the hours of 7.30am-3pm. There may be some flexibility for additional shifts.

**Rate of Pay**: Negotiable and will depend on experience.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract

**Salary**: £11.50 per hour
