As a member of the Senior Risk Leadership team, the Head of Compliance role will deputise and support the Regulatory Risk Director (who has SMF responsibilities) and AUK Chief Risk Officer in their role of supporting the Executive, Board and other relevant management committees to identify, manage and control regulatory risks across the Aegon Group in the UK.

The Job

The role seeks to support developments of new strategies and business propositions and provide insight to delivering innovative and compliant solutions along with good customer outcomes. The role will cover Regulatory Risk (including Conduct Risk) and will provide expert advice, oversight and challenge whilst collaborating with Senior Management and Executive during the support of both regulatory and strategic change within the organisation.

The role holder will also oversee the development of internal AUK policy and standards, and give advice on complex technical issues to colleagues within the Regulatory Risk function and the wider organisation.

The reputational and cost implications of non-compliant activities is potentially significant as a result of regulatory action/reputational impact. This role is therefore critical in supporting the mitigation against that risk and providing assurance that these risks are being appropriately identified and managed.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

- Extensive experience of the UK regulatory framework and working in a senior role within a regulatory/conduct risk/compliance department of a UK regulated product provider
- Working at senior level within a financial services organisation with regular interaction at executive and senior management level
- In-depth knowledge of the UK financial services and regulatory framework, preferably in an international context.
- Knowledge of industry practices with reference to compliance and regulations
- Strong understanding of the UK regulatory approach and expectations
- Degree qualified or equivalent with relevant professional qualifications

It’d also be great - if you’ve got:

- Practical knowledge of best practice in the management of regulatory risk in the UK financial services sector
- Practical business and product knowledge, systems/processes, governance and risk frameworks
- Knowledge of operational risk management and link to commercial objectives in a fast paced delivery focussed environment
- Development and embedding of risk management practices

- A competitive salary from £73,040 - £109,560,
- A non-contributory pension between 8%-12%
