Now Education are recruiting on behalf of a Pupil referral unit based in Runcorn.

**About the college**

The PRU is an independent school for secondary students who have experienced difficulties achieving their potential in other settings and describes itself as a happy, vibrant and caring college with a dedicated team. The college offers a therapeutic education environment for its students and the staff have a relentless determination to help them do well and succeed.

**About the role**

We are seeking a learning support assistant and mentor to work in the college’s provision on a long term and full time basis. A broad and balanced curriculum is offered to students to ensure they can access the national curriculum in an appropriate way and provides differentiation where needed. This means students are introduced to a wide range of knowledge, skills and experience.
- Experience supporting young people with SEND or SEMH.
- Experience working with young people with challenging or complex behavior.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with students and staff.
- The ability to work on a 1:1 basis with students, providing motivation and support to keep them engaged in lessons and activities.

School based experience is not necessary, it could be that you have worked as a Sports coach, residential care worker, foster carer or youth worker and have an interest in Education. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a cohesive and welcoming team, along with an inspirational headteacher.

**Salary**: £70.00-£75.00 per day

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- special education: 1 year (preferred)
- 1:1 support: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- enhanced DBS on the update service (preferred)

Work Location: One location
