Position**:Supply Chain Manager**
Location**:Derby or Coleshill with agile working**
Salary**:£75-85k (Neg DOE), car/allowance, bonus and excellent benefits package**
Our Client: Is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. They have over 1,000 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting six long term water sector frameworks operating both on their own and increasinglyin joint ventures and alliances.
They are delivering on behalf of Severn Trent, one of the largest and most varied water non-infrastructure improvement programmes in the UK.
The Role: Develop and deliver the Severn Trent framework procurement strategy including management of the regional team and maintain central procurement responsibilities such as management of category frameworks.
Responsibilities: Develop and deliver the strategic direction for the region
Responsible for materials, plant and subcontract spend
Act as main interface with Client procurement department
Responsible for proactively managing client mandatory frameworks
Responsible for reporting requirements to regional SLT and central management teams.
Set and monitor departmental service level agreements/performance measures
Assist with the setting of departmental budgets.
Monitor the department budgets to ensure high quality efficient delivery against business targets
Set and monitor resource levels, workload and recovery rates
Manage the procurement process, ensuring compliance with processes, policies and procedures.
Take part in both internal and external audits, responsible for resolving any findings
Work with central procurement to manage the maintenance of an approved supplier database
Ensure that the supply chain is competent in health and safety, quality and environmental management
Understand and implement the quality, safety and environmental policies and targets
Monitor the performance of suppliers, intervening where necessary, to ensure that the company continues to use those providing the best delivery service levels
Resolve supplier performance issues and disputes
Identify team resource issues and performance issues and advise senior leadership
Advise on development needs for current and future roles required within the department.
Ensure proactive support of Client procurement initiatives including attendance at collaborative workshops and buying forums as required.
Champion the use of the internal procurement system (IFS).
Promote/uphold corporate vision and values
Ensure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/associations/groups, to stay current on industry changes and innovations.
Maintain a positive and solution oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role
In all internal and external contact, present a professional and positive image of the department as well as maintaining mutually constructive, positive and beneficial relationships.
Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality
Responsible for a team consisting of Assistant Buyers, Buyers and Senior Buyers
Experience: Essential:
Minimum of 5 years senior level experience of Procurement and Supply Chain in the construction/utility industry
Management/leadership experience
Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise work in a demanding and commercially complex environment
Computer literate (use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Desirable:
Process industry experience
Degree level qualification
Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental qualifications
Supplier auditing and expediting expertise
IFS knowledge and experience
CIPS full membership qualification
