Macildowie are pleased to be working once again with one of the leading manufacturers of high quality, precast concrete products for the construction industry to exclusively recruit a Commercial Manager

Reporting to the Projects Director, you will have on-site overall responsibility for acting as the interface between the client and the project team.

Your key accountabilities are to manage the client relationship and NEC contractual terms to ensure client needs are met and clearly communicated to the wider project team.

Job Specification
The role involves leading the Special Projects Team and taking a lead on the client relationship, to manage the efficient and safe execution of the project to meet overall contractual requirements on behalf of the client.

The Project will typically involve the following aspects, for which you will play a pivotal role in terms of delivery:

- Managing all of the contractual variations and events management processes, working closely with the Quantity Surveyor(s) and Scheduler, ensuring that the all information and communication with the client is aligned with the contractual expectations (i.e.early warning notices and/or compensation events).
- Sitting in all client meetings, taking minutes, coordinating outcomes and actions raised with relevent stakeholders, whilst managing client expectations at all times.
- Being on the ground to support coordination of activity of all workstreams, acting as the ambassador for the client and key stakeholders at all times against action log, (eg, plant construction/capex, procurement/supply chain, logistics, production scheduling,quality assurance et al) to ensure alignment and adherence to overall project plan; removing barriers and identifying solutions to achieve timescales.
- Working in conjunction with Production teams, to appropriately manage contractual handover and ongoing communication of variations to contract to ensure production remain abreast of developments before capital and resources are committed.
- Report as required to all stakeholders regarding the ongoing status of the project.
- Any other duties requried to support successful project execution.
- You are driven to manage expectations rather than disappointment and you are a team player willing to ensure the safe and efficient execution of the project, contractual and commercial terms, KPIs are met in an on time, in full approach. You are proactive anddiligent in all aspects of client relationship management from inception to completion, both during design stages and delivery to client specifications.

Your key experience, skills and qualifications, include:

- Extensive experience as a Contract Manager/ Quantity Surveyor, managing NEC contractual terms and demonstrating legal prowess to ensure tight deadlines and project outcomes are achieved and paid for, through a solutions approach.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent team player.
- Sound confidence and competence in client-facing activities to create precast solutions fit for purpose, to specification and in price; whilst mitigating production costs and maximising output. In doing so you are capable of being influential and capableof engaging and inspiring people.
- Degree qualified or equivalent (e.g. Quantity Surveyor) with experience of managing major contracts and clients through key long term, major projects (£30m).
- Desirable: Chartered Quantity Surveyor (RICS) or similar membership a distinct advantage
- Tenacity, resilience and a positive disposition, a 'œcan-do' attitude, assertiveness and a high degree of determination to succeed.
